Appeal for information from the Guild Guitar historian

Postby JerryR on Fri Jul 03, 2009 6:34 pm

Hans Moust in the Netherlands has written volume 1 of THE definitive Guild Guitar history - and he is currently writing Volume 2.

He posted the message below on the LTG forum www.letstalkguild.com but the buyer of the instrument in question obviously hasn't found us, so I'm copying it here on the off chance they might read it. This is Hans message:

Hello everybody,

This might be a long shot but I would like to try it anyway. I know there are people from the U.K reading this forum as well, so there's a slight chance that someone from the U.K. will be able to help me out.

I'm looking for the current owner of a Guild X-175 Deluxe Cherry. Some time ago the guitar was for sale or on consignment at Vintage & Rare ( London/ Bath). The guitar is no longer available but you can still find it on their website:

I would love to get in contact with the owner of this guitar for historical reasons. Basically I would like to check some info that I found in the original Guild factory ledgers and I would think the owner of this guitar would probably enjoy having this info as well.

Unfortunately the people at Vintage & Rare have not been able to help me, so I was wondering if any people out there in the 'vintage guitar' community know the where-abouts of this guitar.

Hope that somebody will be able to get me in contact with the current owner.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust http://www.guitarsgalore.nl

Hope someone can help Hans! :D
