I need a drummer for a recording project happening May 26th-31st in Churchill (near WSM). We are planning to record a CD's worth of original acoustic blues and country/americana to be pressed and released as soon as possible, to a professional commercial standard.
The amount of time we have to record means that rehearsals will be scarce. So I need someone who can pick up a song easy enough and be sensitive to feel and timing without direction. The material will be generic enough to cause the right player no problems, anyone used to getting by in a pickup band will sit tight.
Also. you'll need to be able to give us as much time as you can over the week (we'll be there day and night) and you'll have to leave the kit set up all week (no-body else will play it, but there'll be no time for setting up and pulling down every night).
In return you'll get to part of an amazing project with some truly talented people. You'll get your name in the credits and probably your photo on the CD. Nobody is getting paid right away but by the time that someone offers money for the project (and that's the aim) we'll all be thinking about much more than just the green stuff.
Listen to Mud Slide Slim if you are looking for direction. And Music From Big Pink, Trinity Sessions, Nebraska, Big Brother and the HC, Fionn Regan, Wallis Bird, Devon Sproule. And don't bring your rock n' roll tree trunks. And be prepared to play bottles & cans, your knee, tin pots and broom as well as the regular stuff. And leave the Djembe at home eh?
Interested? Hope so. We gonna have some good times.
