Folk Diary update

Postby sanchobramble on Mon Apr 14, 2008 4:15 pm

AS YOU WERE:
Taunton: The Flying Horse, 123 Wordsworth Drive TA1 2HH: Open mic
This is still happening on Wednesdasy, NOT Thursdays as I previously reported. A change to Thursday was considered but not acted upon and my informant got the facts wrong. I apologise for any inconvenience caused. It will however (and I have this from the horse’s mouth) be FORTNIGHTLY instead of weekly from 7th May.

REVISED HEADING:
Sidmouth: The Volunteer, 52 Temple Street EX10 9BQ (01395 512498)
Instrumental session: 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Song session (Barry Lister 01395 579241, 07812 486362): 1st Wednesday of the month.

FABULOUS FURRY FOLK NIGHT:
“Tuesday April 22nd, 8 p.m. Fabulous Furry Folk Night in the main hall of Glastonbury Assembly Rooms, with headliners "Ed, Will and Ginge a-Walking-O" who've had recent successes supporting Martha Tilston and Chris Woods. Their a capella three part arrangements of traditional English songs are amongst the most exciting folk music in the country - come and listen and you'll agree! Support slots from Maya Preece (Dragonsfly), Tony Thompson (Glastonbury Guitar Maestro) and Forcenra, a new band featuring the fiddle playing and songwriting talents of Dora McKinley. Limited floor spots available; entry £3 'pay or play'.”
