Acoustic Calendar Update

Postby sanchobramble on Mon Oct 12, 2009 6:53 pm

NEW VENUE
Upton Lovell (nr. Warminster): The Prince Leopold BA12 0JP (01985 850460, info@princeleopold.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false)
Second Tuesday of every month, 8pm. Open mic. All musicians welcome.

ANOTHER NEW HOME FOR TIVERTON FOLK CLUB
Tiverton: Tiverton Folk Club, The White Horse Inn, 12 Gold Street EX16 6PZ (01884 252022, Susannah Billeter: 01884821286, susybilleter@hotmail.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false)
First Tuesday of the month, 8.30 pm. This club is run as a singers club, although from time to time they do have a guest.
Susannah writes: “Tiverton Folk Club is moving venue as The Prince Blucher has 'closed its doors' -i.e. shut down! We shall be in the Skittle Alley, up the alley beside the pub. The best place to park is in the Market Car Park, which is free to park in at night. You could also park in the Tesco car park and then walk up Gold Street, but parking is limited to three hours, and you should perhaps buy something from the shop if parking there? The room is ideal, in that it is broader, in girth, than both the Blucher and the Racehorse. There are some mikes to use, if people would like to use them, and there is the possibility to plug in instruments. We can see how the first session goes, and then decide whether we want to use the sound system. Email me if you want further directions for parking, or where the pub is exactly. Look forward to seeing you at the new venue.”

MILFORD ON SEA FOLK CLUB: NEW TEMPORARY VENUE
Milford on Sea (near Lymington): Folk Club, South Lawn Hotel, Lymington Road SO41 0RF (Sue Whitlock: 01590 643404)
2nd Thursday of the month, 8pm. Folk club ((opposite the school), hosted by the Goodthyme Brothers (Jim Palmer & Bill Hesp). £2.50 admission. Bar open 7.30pm. Each month there is a guest singer (or two) – “We're always looking for new guest artists.” Floor singers are very welcome (free drink!)
“Our venue [Milford on Sea Community Centre] is being rebuilt so we can have only 3 sessions [at the South Lawn Hotel] until we can re-open hopefully in June 2010.” Schedule:- October 8th: Alex and Noeleen (Murphy’s Lore); Feb 11th: Sara Grey and Kieren Means; April 8th: Lynne Heraud and Pat Turner.

CHANGE OF SCHEDULE
